Where can I find community events and local news?

Community events, such as markets, festivals, sports matches and volunteer opportunities, are promoted through the council’s events calendar, which is available on its website and social media channels. Local newspapers and radio stations also publish weekly round‑ups of happenings in the town and surrounding districts. In addition, many neighbourhoods have Facebook groups and community notice boards at the library and community centre where residents share information about workshops, clubs and social gatherings. Subscribing to these sources will keep you informed about activities that suit a wide range of interests.
