Abu Qurqas Center, Minya

Minya, often called the "Bride of Upper Egypt," is a historic city situated on the western bank of the Nile River, approximately 245 km south of Cairo. Its economy is largely driven by agriculture, with fertile lands producing cotton, sugarcane, corn, wheat, and vegetables, and it also serves as an administrative hub for Upper Egypt. Living in Minya is considerably less expensive than in larger Egyptian cities like Cairo or Alexandria, with a single person's estimated monthly costs around $324-$357 including rent. The city experiences a hot desert climate with significant temperature variations, reaching up to 40°C in summer and dropping to near freezing at night in winter, with very minimal rainfall.
