I’ll be a student and need a place within walking distance.
Where can I find affordable apartments near the university campus?

Student housing offices and university-affiliated housing portals list apartments specifically for students. Local real estate agents often specialize in student rentals and can offer short‑term leases. Checking community bulletin boards, university forums, and neighborhood Facebook groups also yields listings. It’s common to find shared flats (Wohngemeinschaften) in the city centre, which are cost‑effective and foster community. When viewing properties, ask about included utilities and the length of the lease, as many student apartments require a minimum stay of six months.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Bayreuth.
