I’m an EU citizen arriving from another German city.
What paperwork do I need to register my residence after moving to Gröpenlingen?

Within two weeks of moving, you must register at the local registration office (Einwohnermeldeamt). Bring a completed registration form, your passport or ID card, and a confirmation of residence (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) signed by your landlord. Since you are an EU citizen, no visa is required, but you should also bring proof of health insurance and, if applicable, your employment contract. The office will issue a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung), which you’ll need for opening a bank account, obtaining a tax ID and enrolling children in school. Forms and appointment booking are available on the city’s official website.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Gröpelingen.
