I’ll arrive next month and need to know the steps for the Anmeldung.
What paperwork is required to register my address in Frankfurt?

After arriving, you must complete the “Anmeldung” (registration) at the local registration office within two weeks. Bring a completed registration form, your passport, and a confirmation from your landlord (the “Wohnungsgeberbestätigung”) stating that you have moved into the address. If you are married or have children, you may need additional documents such as marriage certificates or birth certificates, which should be translated into German if not already. Once processed, you will receive a registration certificate, which is required for opening a bank account, obtaining a tax ID and finalising health‑insurance enrollment. Appointments can be booked online through the city’s official portal.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Frankfurt am Main.
