We are moving with one child and want a good public school.
What options do I have for primary education for my 7‑year‑old?

Langen offers several public primary schools that follow the Hesse state curriculum. Enrollment is usually based on the child’s residence address, so you will be assigned to the school serving your district. You can find the exact catch‑area maps on the municipal education department’s website. If you prefer a different school, you may apply for a place outside your zone, but acceptance depends on capacity. The schools provide regular German instruction and offer additional language support for non‑native speakers. Contact the city’s school office for registration forms and deadlines, typically in early spring for the next school year.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Langen (Hessen).
