I’m moving from another EU country and have a family.
What paperwork do I need to register my residence in Oberursel?

Within two weeks of moving, you must register at the local residents’ registration office (Einwohnermeldeamt). Bring a completed registration form, your passport or ID, a rental contract or proof of residence, and for family members, their identification documents as well. If you are an EU citizen, no visa is required, but you should also bring proof of health insurance. The office will issue a confirmation of registration (Meldebescheinigung), which you’ll need for setting up utilities, opening a bank account and enrolling children in school. The city’s website provides downloadable forms and the office’s opening hours.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Oberursel (Taunus).
