I have a 10‑year‑old child and need to know the schooling options.
Does Bergen have schools for children up to age 12?
1 Answer
Yes, Bergen hosts primary schools that cater to children up to about age 12. These schools provide standard German curricula and are typically located near residential areas. For secondary education, students usually travel to larger nearby towns, such as Stralsund, which offer comprehensive schools. The local education authority publishes school catchment maps and admission procedures on its website, which can help you plan the commute and enrollment process.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Bergen auf Rügen.
