I speak only English.
Is the German language necessary for daily life in Homburg?
1 Answer
While many residents, especially younger people and service staff, speak basic English, German is the primary language for official matters, healthcare, schooling and most workplace communications. Daily interactions such as shopping, public transport announcements and local bureaucracy are conducted in German. Learning at least conversational German will make it much easier to navigate the city, understand contracts and integrate socially. The city’s adult‑education centre offers language courses, and there are also online resources and community groups that provide practice opportunities.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Homburg.
