We have two children, ages 7 and 10, and want them to learn German.
Are there good schools for international families in Hoyerswerda?
1 Answer
Hoyerswerda’s public school system includes primary and secondary schools that follow the Saxon curriculum, with programs for non‑German‑speaking students. Most schools offer language integration classes ("Deutsch als Fremdsprache") to help children acquire German quickly. For families seeking an international environment, there are also bilingual or international sections within some schools, though they may have limited places. Information on enrollment procedures, school zones, and available language support can be found on the city’s education department website or by contacting the local school authority directly.
