We have a 7‑year‑old and want to know about primary options and enrollment steps.
Which schools serve families living in Tahunanui?
1 Answer
Children in Tahunanui are zoned for the nearest primary schools that fall under the Nelson school district. These schools typically offer years 1‑6 and have enrollment zones based on residential address. To enrol, you’ll need to provide proof of residence, the child’s birth certificate and immunisation records. The district’s website has a zone lookup tool where you can enter your address to see which schools are designated for your home. It also outlines the enrolment timeline, which usually opens in late winter for the following school year. Visiting the schools during open days can help you assess the environment and meet teachers.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Tahunanui.
