My child will be 8 years old and I want a curriculum similar to US standards.
Are there public schools in Calbayog that teach in English?
1 Answer
Public schools in Calbayog follow the national curriculum, which uses both Filipino and English as mediums of instruction, especially in subjects like mathematics and science. While the overall approach aligns with Philippine standards rather than US curricula, many teachers are proficient in English and use it daily in the classroom. To assess a specific school’s language emphasis, you can visit the city’s education department website or request a tour through the school district office. Private schools often provide a more intensive English environment and may follow international programs, but they come with higher tuition fees.
