Are there good primary and secondary schools in Hermanus?

Hermanus offers a range of public and independent schools that serve primary and secondary learners. The public school system follows the provincial curriculum and typically has larger class sizes, while independent schools provide smaller classes and often include additional extracurricular programs. Both types are overseen by the provincial education department, which publishes performance data and enrollment procedures on its website. When evaluating options, consider factors such as language of instruction, distance from your home, and the school’s reputation within the community. Visiting schools during open days and speaking with other parents can give you a clearer picture of which environment fits your children’s needs.
