About RiverStone Health Hospice Home

RiverStone Health Hospice Home is a nonprofit hospice and home care provider located in Billings, Montana. Originally known as Big Sky Hospice, the program became part of RiverStone Health in 1998, and the broader RiverStone Health system was formally organized in 2008. The hospice program has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care for individuals facing terminal illness.

Their care philosophy emphasizes treating the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—while supporting the family through the caregiving and grieving process. Services are provided wherever the patient resides, whether at home, in a skilled nursing facility, or assisted living. Until mid-2024, RiverStone also operated a 12-bed inpatient hospice home, which has since transitioned to fully home-based hospice services.

RiverStone Health Hospice Home uses a team-based, interdisciplinary approach that includes:

Skilled nurses

Physicians

Certified nursing assistants

Medical social workers

Spiritual care counselors

Grief and bereavement counselors

Volunteers

They offer pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, advance care planning, 24/7 on-call nurse access, and bereavement services. The organization is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) and participates in the We Honor Veterans program to provide specialized care for military veterans.
